Setup

Three steps, about 2 minutes of your time.

  1. 1

    Tell us about your business

Start the free trial, then fill in a short form: services, hours, service area, common questions, what's urgent and who should get those calls.

  2. 2

    We build and test Sayra

We set up your receptionist on its own Sayra number and test-call it. Your number arrives by email a few minutes after you finish the form.

  3. 3

    Forward your calls

Turn on call forwarding from your number to Sayra, then call your own line to hear it. Want a change? Email us.

Call forwarding

You keep your number. Calls just take a detour.

Customers keep dialing the number on your truck, your website and your Google listing. Your phone company forwards those calls to Sayra. Nothing gets ported, and you can switch it off in seconds.

Every call

Sayra answers everything. Good if you want a full-time front desk and want to stop picking up altogether.

When you don't answer

Your phone rings first. If you don't pick up after a few rings, or you're already on a call, Sayra takes it. The most popular setup.

After hours only

You or your staff handle the day. Sayra covers nights, weekends and holidays.

Most mobile carriers and business phone systems support all three, usually with a short dial code or a setting in your phone system. We send you the instructions for your provider during setup.

What Sayra knows

Only what you tell her.

Sayra answers from the business information you give us, not from guesses.

  • The basics: hours, address, service area, how to pay.
  • Your services: what you do, what you don't, and how pricing works (service-call fee, free estimates, "we'll quote on site").
  • Your policies: cancellations, deposits, warranties, insurance you take.
  • Your FAQs: the questions your phone rings with every day.
  • Your rules: what's urgent, who gets transferred, and when.

If a caller asks something Sayra wasn't given, she doesn't make it up. She says she'll have someone get back to them and takes a message.

Handoffs

Urgent calls reach a person.

  • You define urgent. "No heat," "water coming through the ceiling," "patient in pain," "new client with a court date this week."
  • Live transfer. Sayra tells the caller she's connecting them and transfers to your cell or on-call number.
  • No answer? No dead end. If the transfer isn't picked up, Sayra takes the details and emails you right away, marked urgent.
  • "Can I talk to a person?" Callers can always ask. Sayra transfers or takes a message, following your rules.
  • Real emergencies. Sayra isn't an emergency service. If someone describes a life-threatening situation, she tells them to hang up and call 911.

Summaries

The whole call in one email.

When a call ends, you get an email with what matters. Your online dashboard has every call with its recording and transcript, and it's where you change your hours, services, transfer number and what Sayra knows. Changes go live in seconds.

  • Caller name and callback number
  • What they need, in plain words
  • What Sayra booked or promised
  • Whether it's urgent

Recording and AI disclosure

Upfront with every caller.

  • Calls are recorded and callers are told so. Sayra's greeting includes a short recording notice, so you're covered in states that require everyone on the call to know.
  • Honest about being an AI. Sayra never claims to be a person. If a caller asks, she says she's an AI assistant for your business.
  • Your data stays yours. Recordings and transcripts are kept for 90 days by default, then deleted. See the Privacy Policy.
